Also pls clarify me how can we prepare different colour shades since in market we get very few??

Thanks Ahila. In my native place, we get colour kolam powders that are mixed with sand, kolam powder or husk (Each pack rating Re.1 to Rs.5).
These powders are ready to use. The colours are brilliant as well!

But in some places we have only a few shades. In that case we'll have to experiment by mixing different shades (adding more of white powder or a darker shade)together.
